Summer is coming to an end in NYC but that’s not going to stop me from living my whole life and continuing my spontaneous picnics in the park. I’m a super simple girl and it doesn’t take very much to make me happy: Sunshine, my magazines (gotta catch up on all the September fashion issues) and my snacks.

I keep my picnic basket packed and by the front door and I’m notorious for grabbing a blanket and snacks and lying out in the sun all day. I’m very lucky to be able to work from home, so the park is my go to when I need a break and some fresh air. While I love the quiet time to myself, I also love packing a few extra drinks and sending an invite out over group text. I can drop a quick pin and let all my friends know where to find my blanket.

My go-to drink for summer is Diet Coke®. This summer they’ve come out with several new flavors and a sleek new design. Break out of your comfort zone and try something new! You can choose from naturally flavored Feisty Cherry, Ginger Lime, Twisted Mango, and my new favorite, Zesty Blood Orange….find them at your local Target today! It’s so refreshing and the hit of Blood Orange is perfection. The fruit flavor is sweet, but it also packs a punch (just like me 🙂

Brooklyn has so many beautiful parks and outdoor spaces. My top three favorites are listed below. Pack up that perfect picnic basket and go. There aren’t many hot, sunny days left in NY, take advantage while you can!

1. Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a world-class waterfront park with lush gardens, and spectacular city views. Brooklyn Bridge Park is by far my favorite. You can normally find me on a blanket in the grass as close to the water as possible. My second favorite place to relax is a bit of a hidden gem. The Granite Terrace, located on Pier 3, features salvaged granite blocks that emerge from planted areas. The view is breathtaking and it’s the perfect place to hide away with my favorite books and magazines.

2. Domino Park

Domino Park is a great new addition to the Williamsburg water front. The park boasts amazing playgrounds and jungle gyms, and lounge chairs for sunbathing…It’s also a great  spot to stop for a water break on your run through Brooklyn or on the way across Williamsburg Bridge, or a friendly family oriented park to bring the kids.

3. Fort Greene Park

While it’s not on the water, it’s still one of the most beautiful, peaceful outdoor spaces in Brooklyn. There are several secluded nooks to hide away

Whichever park you choose, make sure you pack the essentials! You can stock up on Diet Coke for end-of-summer fun with two Diet Coke (8pk/12oz Sleek Cans) for $6 at Target, now through September 3! Click here for more info on where to buy!
